Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.9.3 has an vulnerability due to an improper isolation of Python execution combined with an authentication bypass that allows an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the host system, resulting in complete compromise
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.9.3. A part of the product that runs Python code (a common programming language) does not keep that code properly walled off, and a separate weakness lets attackers get around the login check. Together, these let an attacker who has no account run any code they choose on the computer where Langflow is installed, taking complete control of it. This flaw is rated Critical.
What to do
- If someone in your organization installed or runs Langflow, ask them to check which version is in use. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.9.3 are affected.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release.
- When a fixed release is available, have the person who runs Langflow install it as soon as possible.
- If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
