Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.8.4 could allow unauthenticated attackers to access protected MCP project resources and execute MCP operations due to improper authorization enforcement in the Streamable MCP transport endpoint.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.8.4. The problem is in the feature that lets outside AI tools connect to your Langflow projects (known as MCP). That feature does not properly check who is allowed in, so someone who has not logged in could reach protected project resources and carry out actions through that connection. This flaw is rated Critical.
What to do
- Find out who installed or runs Langflow for your organization: a staff member, a volunteer, or an IT provider or vendor who manages it for you.
- Have that person check which version is running. If it is 1.0.0 through 1.8.4, it is affected by this flaw.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release and install it as soon as one is available.
- If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for you, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
