Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.1 Langflow could allow an authenticated user to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges on the system due to improper validation of user supplied input in the Python Interpreter component.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.1. The problem is in the Python Interpreter building block, which runs Python code inside a workflow. It does not properly check the input users give it. Because of this, anyone who can sign in to Langflow could run any commands they choose on the computer it runs on, with elevated access rights. This flaw is rated High.
What to do
- Find out whether your organization uses Langflow and, if so, which version. The person who installed or runs it should check this.
- If the version is 1.0.0 through 1.10.1, it is affected by this flaw.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release and install it as soon as one is available.
- If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
