Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 contain a critical remote code execution vulnerability in the code validation API endpoint. The POST /api/v1/validate/code endpoint accepts user-supplied Python code and executes it directly using Python's built-in exec() function without sandboxing, input validation, or privilege restrictions, enabling any authenticated user to execute arbitrary system commands with the full privileges of the Langflow server process.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.0. The problem is in a feature that checks code people send to the product: it runs that code directly, with no safety limits. Anyone who can log in to Langflow could use it to run any commands they choose on the computer that hosts Langflow, with the same full access the Langflow program has. This flaw is rated Critical.
