Description

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 has a vulnerability in Langflow's webhook authentication logic allows unauthenticated users to trigger the execution of any flow. The system incorrectly bypasses API key validation when the WEBHOOK_AUTH_ENABLE configuration is set to False (which is the default setting). This allows a remote attacker who knows a flow's UUID to execute it as if they were the owner, potentially leading to Remote Code Execution (RCE).

Description quoted from the NVD record.

Who is affected

Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models, by linking steps together into workflows. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.0. It is in the webhook feature, which lets outside services start a workflow with a web request. When the setting for webhook login checks is turned off, which is the default, the product skips its access key check. An attacker over a network who knows a workflow's unique ID could run that workflow as if they owned it, possibly letting them run their own commands on the server. This flaw is rated Critical.

What to do

  1. If someone in your organization installed or runs Langflow, that person should check which version is in use. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 are affected.
  2. No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release and install it as soon as it is available.
  3. If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
