Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 allows authenticated users to escalate privileges to superuser by directly manipulating the database, execute arbitrary system commands, and achieve full system compromise with Langflow service permissions.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Your organization is affected if it uses Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS), a tool for building apps that use AI language models, in versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.0. Anyone who can sign in to your Langflow installation could tamper directly with the data Langflow stores to give themselves full administrator (superuser) rights. They could then run any commands they choose on the computer where Langflow runs and take full control of that system, with the same permissions Langflow itself has. This flaw is rated Critical.
What to do
- If you or a staff member installed and run Langflow, that person should check which version is in use. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 have this flaw.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release and install it as soon as it is available.
- If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
