Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.1 can allow an attacker to access another user's private vector documents by creating their own flow with matching Chroma persist_directory and collection_name values. The attacker receives exact victim content in their workflow output despite having no authorization to read the victim's flow. Additionally, the attacker can pollute the victim's collection by inserting their own documents into the shared namespace.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.1 and involves the building block that saves documents in a Chroma database. An attacker who can create their own workflow can set it up to point at the same stored document collection as another user. They can then read that user's private documents in their own workflow results, even without permission to view that user's workflow, and can also add their own documents to that user's collection. This flaw is rated High.
