Description
IBM Langflow OSS contains a weak cryptographic key derivation vulnerability in the ensure_fernet_key() function.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
This flaw affects Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS), a tool for building apps that use AI language models. The problem is in the part of Langflow that creates the secret key it uses to encrypt and protect information. That key is made in a weak way, so it is less secure than it should be. No specific affected versions are named for this flaw, so treat any Langflow installation your organization uses as possibly affected. This flaw is rated Critical.
What to do
- If you are not sure who runs Langflow for your organization, find out who installed it or who looks after it: a staff member, a volunteer, or an outside IT provider.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so the person who runs Langflow should check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release and install it as soon as one is available.
- If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
