Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.2 could allow an attacker with access to the server secret and Redis write access to submit a malicious serialized cache value. When the value was retrieved, deserialization could have executed attacker-controlled code with the privileges of the service process.
Description quoted from the NVD record.
Who is affected
Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.2. An attacker can only use it if they already have the server's secret key and can write to Redis, a data store the product uses to keep temporary copies of information (a cache). Such an attacker could plant harmful data there. When Langflow later read it back, the attacker's own code could run on the server with the same permissions as Langflow itself. This flaw is rated High.
What to do
- The person who installed or runs Langflow for your organization should handle this. If an IT provider or vendor runs it for you, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
- Check which version of Langflow you use. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.2 have this problem.
- No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release.
- When a fixed release is available, install it on every Langflow server your organization runs.
