Description

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper neutralization of special elements used in code, resulting in a sandbox escape.

Description quoted from the NVD record.

Who is affected

Langflow (also called IBM Langflow OSS) is a tool for building apps that use AI language models. This flaw affects versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.2. Someone who can log in to Langflow over a network could slip specially crafted instructions past the product's safety checks and break out of the protected area that is meant to keep their actions contained. That would let them run any commands they choose on the computer that hosts Langflow. This flaw is rated High.

What to do

  1. If someone in your organization installed or runs Langflow, ask them to check which version is in use. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.2 are affected.
  2. No fixed version is named for this flaw yet, so check the vendor advisory linked on this page for a fixed release. Ask the person who runs Langflow to install it as soon as it is available.
  3. If an IT provider or vendor runs Langflow for your organization, send them this advisory and ask when the update will be done.
